7 Bulletproof Reasons Why Weightlifting Can Beat Crossfit Any Day Of The Week

We all know that building muscles isn’t exactly child’s play. Achieving your goal, no matter how small or big it might be, requires a lot of effort and time.

For that, and many other reasons, experts and gym-dwellers have come up with various ways to sculpt one’s body. Some are pretty traditional, while others will take you to such extreme heights that you’ll wonder: “What the hell am I even doing?”

In that name, let’s take a look at the weightlifting approach and all the things that make it so much better than crossfit.

1. Too Much Effort

As you probably already know, weightlifting demands that you give your best at the last rep of that last set in order to boost your muscle gain. But when it comes to crossfit, it’s a whole different story.

When you’re doing crossfit exercises, you are constantly at the end of your figurative rope. You’ll always need:

  • More strength
  • More endurance
  • To constantly push your limits

This can take quite a toll on your body and health.

2. Serious Business

Everyone can lift weights, whether by themselves or with a gym buddy. But if you want to do crossfit, you’ll have to join the community.

It’s not that it’s bad, but not all of us want to have someone continuously pushing us to do better and to set new records.

3. Intense Or Insane?

As we’ve said before, weightlifting can be done at any place, at any time and with whomever you like. Crossfit, on the other hand, doesn’t allow such freedom.

Doing crossfit exercises forbids:

  • Free choices of exercises
  • Subjective rest times
  • Chatting with your gym buddies
  • Doing things at your own pace

4. Diversity

When someone says they’re hitting the gym, the first thing that comes to mind is usually also the simplest: they must be lifting weights. On the opposite side of the spectrum lies crossfit that involves too many exercise variations.

Crossfit is a multifaceted workout in terms of:

  • Plyometrics
  • Sprinting
  • Weight training
  • Gymnastics
  • And more

5. Too Short

Nobody wants to pay a full monthly gym membership in order to work out for only 20 minutes every other day, right? Well, as far as crossfit goes, that’s exactly the case.

Since crossfit workouts are so intense and serious, they can’t be performed for more than half an hour per session.

6. Coaching

Many of us look at going to the gym as the time to unwind, not think too much, and just work your butt off in order to get bigger guns and a slimmer waistline.

But the world of crossfit isn’t like that. In most cases, crossfitters have trained coaches who tell them exactly:

  • What to do
  • How to do it
  • And when it’s enough

7. Injuries

It would be great if crossfit was just more extreme than weightlifting in terms of intensity, but there’s also the injury factor that must be considered.

Since these exercises are so over-the-top, you could easily get harmed due to:

  • Overly complicated exercises
  • Difficult moves
  • Poor coaching
